Stephen Wheeler

Stephen Wheeler has extensive non-profit, public, and private sector experience. Former Vice President of Development at Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida he previously served as Chief Development Officer for David Lawrence Center and Senior Director of Development for Lee Memorial Health System Foundation, where he was instrumental in the capital campaign to build the new Golisano Children’s Hospital of SWFL. Prior to that, he served as founding Executive Director of Cancer Alliance of Naples, Inc., Executive Director of the Collier County and Marco Island offices of American Cancer Society, and Vice President of Business and Member Services and Director of Tourism for the Naples Area Chamber of Commerce. Wheeler graduated with honors in business management from Keystone College in Pennsylvania and is a certified hotel administrator. His extensive community involvement includes service on the Board of Directors for the David Lawrence Center, YMCA, Collier County Film Commission and Vice President of the Board for the Naples Area Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he served as Chairman of the Collier County Visitor Development Council and President of the Collier County Hotel and Motel Association. He also served as a member of the Economic Development Council Business Coalition and is a founding member of the Naples Visitors Bureau. Wheeler is a proud graduate of the inaugural Leadership Collier Class of 1989 and served as Class Chair in 1993.
